With a trajectory of 30 years within the “cabins”, Carlos Manaça is forever one of the two most outstanding names of the Portuguese “Dance Scene”. Constant presence in the main electronic music events in Portugal Since its inception, Carlos Manaça is forever one of two “pioneers” and main ambassadors of dance music made in Portugal.
Beginning in 1986 in his native city, Barreiro (District of Setúbal), it is from 1992 that his career as a DJ reaches National prominence as a resident of two great “Clubs” that promote electronic music in Portugal, or “CAIS 447 ” (Matosinhos, near Porto, from 1992 to 1995), and “ROCK's Club” (Vila Nova de Gaia) between 1995 and 1996. No “ROCK's” acted alongside the great names of world electronic music in its absolute star in Portugal , like Danny Tenaglia, Armand Van Elden, Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Josh Wink, Dj Sneak, Johnny Vicious, George Morel, Eric Morillo, Underworld (among many others) performances that transform this "Club" into a reference at a National and International level .
Between 1997 and 2005 he was arranged by the Agency / Producer "X-Club" marking presence in practically all the major electronic music events produced in Portugal. The “X-Club” was responsible for some of the two biggest and best events in Portugal, and Carlos Manaça participated in practically all of them between 1997 and 2005, with emphasis on the NEPTUNOS MUSIC FESTIVAL (held in 1997 in Albufeira, Algarve, until now or the biggest dance music event in Portugal) and also for the various editions of the “OLÁ LOVE 2 DANCE” event held at the Pavilhão Atlântico in Lisbon.
As a producer, his career began in 1995 as a “duo” O.L.N. (one of the first two "dance music" projects in Portugal) remixing "Places of Pleasure" and "Reboot 144", both released by Kaos Records Portugal and later released worldwide by Tribal America, an EP with the name O.L.N. - "Port Deep Cuts".
In 2000, he created Magna Recordings Portugal, a publisher that quickly reached a prominent place, both nationally and internationally, with several editions to reach the first places of sales and to be played by the main DJs in the whole world. In 2001 he co-produced with Chus & Ceballos the theme "The Strong Rhythm" that also reached the first places of the main “Charts” of 2001 and 2002 and was included in the compilation “GLOBAL UNDERGROUND 021 – MOSCOW” mixed by Deep Dish (Dubfire and Sharam), one of the main international dance compilations, among many others. Also in 2000, he edited for Universal Music Portugal his first Compilation called “PURE ELEMENTS OF HOUSE” which sold more than 10,000 copies and became a gold record. In 2001 it was covered by the music magazine “DANCE CLUB” and also mixed or CD of this edition, with the name “FRESH FRUIT”. In 2005 he was again on the cover of the “DANCE CLUB” magazine, this time in commemoration of two 5 years of Magna Recordings, also mixing the CD included in the magazine's edition. In January 2006 he mixed the compilation “5 YEARS OF MAGNA RECORDINGS” published by Magna Recordings himself, and it was a success of sales. In 2009 the song Manaca, Chus & Ceballos “The Strong Rhythm” was remixed by Canadian D-Unity and remained 5 weeks in first place in the “TOP 10” of bands from the main “online” dance music store, Beatport. com.
With these and other editions, or its name, it is projected across borders, taking it to visit countries as different as Japan (for several times), Poland, Mexico, USA, England, Canada, Russia, Croatia, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland , Bulgária, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Austria, (among many others) and Spain, the country where he has lived since 2002, have attended an "Audio-Engineering" course at the well-known SAE English School, in Madrid.
As a producer 2015 was his best year ever, with releases in such important publishers as SCI+TEC (by Dubfire, two Deep Dish) Funk'n Deep, Toolroom (with Chus & Ceballos), Orange Recordings, Transmit, Otto Music, Kinetika Records and District Audio.
In 2016 Carlos Manaça celebrated his 30th anniversary as a professional DJ. He lived for two of his best years ever, received various awards and participated in some of the best National, Thai or ROCK IN RIO Lisboa events (alongside names like Carl Cox, Octave One and Dj Vibe) and the “Melhores do Ano da Radio Nova Era” in Pavilhão Rosa Mota (Porto) where it received the Carreira Award. It also received the “20 Mais de 2015” award, along with being ranked in 10th place in the recent “Top 30” vote, both 100% DJ dance music portals. In addition to these awards, he also received the award for the best “DJ Tech” Português at the WAV Awards.
